Katie McAllister

Katie McAllister’s journey in rugby league began in 2012, ignited by her oldest son’s burgeoning interest in the sport. Since then, she has played numerous pivotal roles in the rugby league community, showcasing her dedication as a coach, manager, and club executive.

Before her deep dive into the world of rugby league, Katie was a primary school teacher for over a decade. Her teaching career took a pause as she chose to focus on raising her family of four children. This transition marked the beginning of her extensive volunteering efforts, which not only kept her connected to her children—each of whom played rugby league—but also deepened her involvement in the sport she came to love.

In 2022, Katie’s commitment and hard work led to her employment with Rugby League Gold Coast. Her passion for the game lead to transitioning to a role with Queensland Rugby League (QRL) as a League and Club Coordinator.

Katie’s leadership qualities and comprehensive understanding of the game saw her seconded into the Area Manager role in April 2024, filling in during a colleague’s leave of absence. Her performance in this interim role earned her a full-time appointment by August of the same year.

Throughout her career, Katie has been instrumental in both community rugby league and QRL Statewide Competitions. Her fervour for volunteering and community engagement is matched by her unwavering commitment to the growth and success of rugby league on the Gold Coast. With a deep appreciation for every facet of the game, Katie remains dedicated to fostering a thriving rugby league environment, ensuring that the sport continues to flourish and inspire future generations
