Pat Asquith

Pat has been involved across many and varied roles in Rugby League for many years.

Firstly as a player, coach and executive at the Lower Mountains JRLFC in the Penrith & Districts JRL, before relocating to the Gold Coast where he joined the Currumbin Eagles JRLFC as a coach of his son’s Under 6 side in 2010. Having joined the committee at Currumbin, he soon took on role of Vice President before becoming President of the Junior Club as well as Chairman of the Currumbin Seniors in 2016. Along with his Junior & Senior committees, Pat worked to bring the 2 entities under the One Club banner and in 2021 the Currumbin Eagles RLFC came into operation covering all ages from Under 6’s though to A Grade.

During his 15 years at Currumbin, Pat was also involved as a manager of numerous Gold Coast representative sides from Under 16’s to Under 19’s. He joined the RLGC Male Participation Working Group in 2025 before becoming an Elected Director in 2026.

Pat has a genuine passion for Rugby League, especially on the Gold Coast, and is committed to working with clubs, where required, to help the game continue to grow across the RLGC Junior age groups, as well as working with clubs that have aspirations to compete in the RLGC Seniors space, to increase the number of clubs competing at that level.
