Peter Daley

I attended Kyogle Public School where I started my football career in U10’s for the Kyogle Turkeys playing through the junior grades, until attending Woodlawn College in Lismore where I played and represented the college for the final four years of my junior football.

Returning to Kyogle to play two years in the U18’s for the Kyogle Turkeys.

I moved to the Gold Coast for work in 1977 joining Tugun Seahawks in their inaugural year in the Gold Coast competition in 1978. Finishing my playing career at the Tugun Seahawks.

I started coaching Tugun Seahawks teams in 1983, in 1989 coached Northern Rivers U19’s for three years and Gold Coast Group U18’s for two years.

1994-2012 I held numerous positions ranging from Coach, Coaching Director, Vice President, President and Chairman.

2006-2015 Queensland State Selector for 16’s,17’s,18’ and 19’s. Seven (7) of these years as the Chair of Selectors.

2013-2016 I was elected Chair of Gold Coast Rugby League Senior Competition.

2017-2022 I have been elected Chair of the Rugby League Gold Coast Board.

I have been involved in Rugby League my whole life with my Dad being a player and referee and my Mum involved as a volunteer when I was a child growing up and I followed suit with my children through their sporting life as they played multiple sports enabling me to stay actively involved.

The knowledge I have gained from my past upbringing and experiences and being able to change as the games grows and changes helps me see the bright future the game has.
