Jimboomba Thunder

The Jimboomba Thunder Rugby League club was established in 2004, while we are a relatively new club, we have grown exponentially from humble beginnings to a current player base of 350 registered players and rising.

We predominantly cater for the junior age groups in both male and female participation, however we have in the past fielded open teams.

Our club ranges from munchkins (3 & 4 yrs) through to U18’s, we offer mixed and gender specific teams throughout the age groups and actively encourage participation and having fun above all else.

It’s NOT the NRL, it’s park footy and it should be enjoyable and fun.

Our focus is to promote inclusiveness and participation across the club and approach every player, volunteer and member with a consistent approach to community sports. We set aside special treatment and promote a one club, one team environment across our membership, our retention rate is a testament to this policy.

Our aim is To build a culture of ownership and a family feel to our club, removed from the politics that often plagues other clubs, our retention rate is a testament to this policy.

We operate from the Jimboomba Sports Park and with the recent announcement from Logan City Council, we will be taking receipt of a brand new clubhouse with an estimated value of 2 million dollars. The new clubhouse will future proof the club well into the future and assist the committee with the massive growth being seen within the Jimboomba district.

Our registrations in 2022 have surpassed previous years and we continue to accept new registrations right up until the June cut off, anyone who wants to play Rugby League will have the opportunity. We offer part and full scholarships to disadvantaged families, to ensure that regardless of circumstances, everyone gets to play League.

Our Club Sponsors for the 2021/ 2022 season are Platinum- Hotondo Homes, Gold – GT Cabinets and Shopfitting, Polleys reality and consulting and our Silver – Jimboomba Veterinary surgery.

We thank them for their ongoing support of our club and helping us get kids off the street and playing community sport in Jimboomba.
